As the only private hospital located in the region, Maitland Private Hospital prides itself on delivering positive patient experiences. Located only 30 minutes from Newcastle, Maitland Private maintains a community‐focused feel while being able to deliver high quality health services to the Maitland and Hunter Valley regions. The hospital encompasses 185 beds, 6 operating theatres, a 10‐bed ICU, and associated rehabilitation, medical and surgical wards. Our services include two major medical centres, a dedicated mental health unit, an on‐site cancer centre (including radiation oncology), radiology practice and pathology laboratory.
Your new role as ICU CMO
Strong growth and expansion of services has generated the need for additional medical cover within our critical care team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CMO to join our friendly and supportive ICU team on a casual basis.
About you (essential criteria)
* Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
* Current unrestricted registration with APHRA.
* Ability to function independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team with well‐developed organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet critical timeframes.
* Current ALS 2 including cannulation, arterial and venous puncture and fluid resuscitation.
* Ability to identify deviations in diagnostic results and to appropriately act/manage and notify VMO accordingly.
* Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience adequate to undertake the roles required of an ICU CMO.
* Advanced airway management skills.
* Ability to insert PICC/CVC and arterial lines.
* Demonstrated commitment to patient‐centred care, with strong interpersonal skills and well‐developed verbal and written communication skills.
* Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.
* Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights required.
* Understanding of NSQHS and ability to apply to clinical care.
* Familiarity with desktop applications, including WebPAS and UKG Kronos/UKG highly regarded.
* Understanding of Private Hospital landscape.
* Surgical, Medical or Rehab experience.
