Overview We are seeking a skilled and versatile Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team at our clients recycling yard. As an essential part of our operations, you will help ensure the efficient movement and organization of materials. Responsibilities Operate forklifts to load and unload vehicles and machinery efficiently and safely. Transport bailed steel and other recycled materials within the yard as required. Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and systematic recycling yard layout. Conduct equipment inspections before use and report any maintenance concerns to ensure safety standards are met. Assist with the operation of excavators (if experienced) for advanced recycling tasks. Maintain accurate records of material movements and equipment usage. Uphold the company's commitment to safety, following all regulations and protocols to prevent accidents. Participate in regular health, safety, and diversity trainings. Communicate effectively with supervisors and the team to streamline operations and improve processes. Qualifications Proven experience as a forklift operator with a valid Australian forklift licence. Knowledge of loading and unloading vehicles in compliance with safety guidelines. Previous experience operating excavators is a desirable advantage. Capacity to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
