Barker Trailers has been manufacturing semi-trailers for over 50 years in Victoria, and we employ approximately 120 staff across our two sites – Woodend and Maryborough. Our products are sold Australia wide, and we are innovative leaders in design and development of products for the transport sector.
The Role
Located at our Maryborough site, we are seeking a motivated, reliable individual with a strong eye for detail and a passion for maintaining clean, well-presented environments. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness and hygiene of our onsite office and factory facilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Vacuuming and mopping of all office and factory floor areas
• High and low dusting
• Cleaning and sanitising desks, kitchen benches, and shared surfaces
• Cleaning all amenities (bathrooms, toilets, washrooms) including daily replenishment of consumables
• Spot cleaning as required
• Internal waste and recycling collection
• Ensuring cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and used safely
• Reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly
• Following cleaning schedules and completing all tasks within required timeframes
Skills & Experience
• Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience desirable
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a positive attitude
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to housekeeping
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Good time-management skills and the ability to work under strict timelines
• Understanding of workplace health & safety and safe chemical handling (training can be provided)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 10–15kg (e.g., waste bags, cleaning supplies)
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions such as mopping, wiping, and vacuuming
• Ability to work in both office and factory environments
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals
• Must be capable of working in a role that requires consistent physical activity
