**About the Role**:
As a Bright Access Disability Support Worker working in accommodation settings, you will be required to work a variety of shift types including morning, day, afternoon, evening, sleepover

On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

- Encouraging participants to participate in a range of day-to-day activities based on their hobbies, interests and goals set within their NDIS support plans.
- Providing opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to the home, as well as facilitating access to community services and facilities
- Provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participants level of independent functioning
- Respond to the participant's needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives
- Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes
- Carrying out and promoting positive routines /duties/activities in a cooperative respectful and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant
- Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans for individuals
- Working as part of a **permanent team** and be committed to participate in team meetings

Duties may include all aspects of assistance with daily living, including:

- Supporting individual participant with personal care
- Assist with domestic tasks such as cooking, household cleaning and laundry
- Support to appointments and grocery shopping
- Supporting participants with provision of medication
- Provide community access support to participant's in a variety of areas

Mandatory Requirements include:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR (annual)
- National Police Children Check (less than 6 months old)
- Current Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Own vehicle with insurance
- Manual handling
- Administration of medication

Preferred:

- Industry and/or personal experience will be highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent experience
- Experience working with challenging behaviors'
- Experience working with people with Autism
- Flexible availability
- Availability to complete sleepover shifts (preferred)
- Availability to complete Active nights shifts (preferred)

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $34.00 - $41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 38 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Traralgon, VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Challenging Behaviours: 1 year (preferred)
- Working with people with autism: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid (preferred)
- Australian National Police Check (preferred)
- Working With Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- Australian driver's licence (required)

Work Location: In person
