The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established to provide a coordinated integrated approach to planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
About the Role
The Oral Health Therapist is responsible for improving the oral health of the community by delivering quality dental treatment and support services, working with dentists to provide routine care for children and adults, and promoting oral health and preventive practices among the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
* Provide routine dental treatment including examinations, diagnosis, scaling and polishing, restorations and extractions within qualification and scope of practice.
* Treat clients for periodontal issues, take X‐rays, apply sealants and fluoride therapy, and take impressions for mouth guards.
* Promote oral health and preventive dental practices among clients in the community.
* Accurately document client files with treatment and medication information.
* Record statistics and maintain computer systems for efficient client management.
About You
* Current QLD C‐class driver's licence.
* Current APHRA registration.
* Current First Aid & CPR certificates.
Desirable, but not mandatory
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and/or communities.
