Australian Grain Technologies (AGT) is Australia's largest plant breeding company and the market leader in wheat genetics. GRDC appoints three nominee directors to the AGT Board, with one appointed by the Board as Chair. This position aims to replace a director whose term expires on 31 December. The ideal candidate will bring expertise and experience in areas such as:
* Strategy development and governance review
* Financial performance and operational efficiency
* Australian crop production systems
* Plant science & breeding
* Industry knowledge and connections
* Commercialisation of R&D
* Field crop value chain & marketing
All directors are expected to have strengths in:
* Business & commercial skills
* Risk management
* Financial acumen
* Corporate governance
The Board meets four times annually, combining face-to-face and online meetings, focusing on strategic and business performance goals and risk management. There may be opportunities to join sub-committees such as Finance, Audit and Risk, or Remuneration.
