The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint an Economic Development Officer to work in the Economic Development & Events Business Unit. Reporting directly to the Investment and Growth Team Leader, this position will be responsible for leading projects and achieving outcomes relating to investment attraction, industry growth and development, destination development, and business support and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and delivering projects identified within City of Fremantle's Economic Development Strategy, Destination Development Strategic Plan and other related strategies and/or associated implementation plans.
* Providing accurate advice to internal service units and external customers in the area of economic development, economic modelling, investment attraction and business engagement.
* Supporting outcomes relating to investment attraction, industry growth and development, destination development and marketing, place activation and business support and engagement.
What you will need
* Previous experience working in economic development, tourism, marketing and place activation.
* Experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including local businesses, community groups, industry representatives and government agencies.
* Strong written communication skills including report writing and presentation of complex information to non‐technical stakeholders.
* Excellent spoken communication, public speaking ability, interpersonal and relationship‐building skills.
* Highly developed project management skills.
