About the role
You will join our BI and Data team to support the development of high quality reporting and analytics solutions across a complex environment that includes ERP, CRM, Payroll, Workforce Management and IoT platforms. Your job is to understand what the business needs, turn that into clear technical requirements and work closely with developers and data specialists to deliver solutions that enable better decisions. You will play a key role in the evolution of our Contemporary Data Warehouse and ensure information is accurate, accessible and genuinely useful to people across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse business reporting needs and produce clear documentation including user stories, process maps and test cases
- Translate business objectives into detailed technical requirements for BI developers and subject matter experts
- Facilitate workshops to gather and refine data and reporting requirements
- Validate data accuracy and work with teams to resolve quality issuesBuild a strong understanding of data models, datasets and system interactions
- Support testing, deployment and post implementation checks for BI solutions
- Maintain a structured backlog and operate effectively within an agile delivery framework
- Contribute to data dictionaries, metric definitions and metadata management
- Uphold strong data governance standards including privacy, access controls and data security
- Provide training and support for stakeholders using new dashboards, reports and BI tools
About you
You are someone who thrives on clarity, problem solving and making data meaningful. You enjoy working with both technical and non technical teams and you are confident turning complex information into insights people can actually use. You will bring the following strengths and experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Technical Business Analyst within BI, data or analytics environments
- Solid SQL capability with the ability to query, validate and interpret complex datasets
- Hands on experience with Power BI or similar analytics platforms
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts including star schemas, fact and dimension tables and data lineage
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse or Azure SQL
- Familiarity with ETL or ELT processes, API integrations and structured data formats
- Experience working in agile environments with tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Excellent communication skills and confidence translating technical concepts for non technical audiences
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and a commitment to data accuracy and governance
