In this full-time role as Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all Opendoor’s financial operations and governance to ensure robust financial management, compliance, insightful reporting, and the ongoing financial health and sustainability of the organisation. Supporting the Executive Leadership team, you will partner with them to guide them through budget and forecasting processes and cycles whilst building financial literacy and understanding.
You will be responsible to:
Enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
Drive financial reporting and analysis, improving insights for decision-making.
Provide strategic financial advice and guidance on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
Manage cash flow and treasury.
Implement and monitor internal controls and financial risk management practices.
Lead revenue recognition, grant accounting, acquittals, financial contract management, and reporting to funders.
About the team
Reporting directly to the Group Manager, Corporate Services, you will lead a small team of 4 focused on transactional activities across Accounts, Accounting, and Payroll. The team supports a 300-headcount not-for-profit organisation, with a ~$40m annual turnover, that runs different community programs and social enterprises focused on supporting people with disabilities to secure gainful employment.

About you
A highly technical operator, you have progressed your career into a strategic leadership role though enjoy remaining close to and involved in the operational side of things. You enjoy leading people and have previously empowered teams to be curious and embrace a continuous improvement mindset.
You will have:
CPA / CA accreditation.
Experience with complex funding models in a matrixed organisation structure (government funding experience will be great!).
Proven success in developing and enhancing financial reporting and key metrics.
Expertise in managing financial systems (e.g., Sage), financial analysis, and compliance.
Successful business partnering experience.
Capability to translate complex financial information to meet audience requirements.
