Our client is a leading Australian owned Defence Industry SME specialising in design, engineering, integration and support of complex high technology electronics, software, electrical and mechanical systems. They currently support sustainment and acquisition activities for both fixed and deployable communications assets at various locations.They now have a permanent opportunity for a Field Service Representative (Technician) to join their team based in Williamtown, NSW. In this role, you will support the development of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Operational Maintenance (OM) Technical workforce, improve the serviceability of the Mission System, and serve as an on-site first-line interface between the ADF and the company for all Maintenance and Logistics activities.Additionally, you will support internal engineering teams with electronic/electrical, mechanical, and ICT design changes and contribute to engineering team activities in accordance with the Management System.Your New RoleAs a Field Service Representative, you will:Provide system knowledge to assist with fault finding, deployment setup, and system configuration.Mentor and provide technical advice to ADF OM personnel on OM tasks (note: FSR does not perform OM maintenance tasks).Identify opportunities for maintenance efficiency improvements and advise senior unit maintenance staff (e.g., SENGO, MAINTO, WOE, SGTs).Provide SME advice on the content of Unit-raised SCRs.Serve as on-site interface between ADF on-site and off-site technical staff, and Contractor on-site and off-site technical staff.Support the ADF and maintenance/logistics teams in resolving issues.Be the first point of contact for the Support Maintenance Helpdesk.Validate Maintenance Instructions locally.Assist internal Engineers with on-site Engineering Investigations on the Mission System.Contribute input to future development plans for the Capability.About YouIdeal candidates will have:Relevant Technical Diploma.Strong technical knowledge of deployable Mission Systems, including LANs, Voice Communication Systems, Telecommunication Links, ICT Systems, and UPS.Knowledge of electrical systems and power distribution.Knowledge of computer architecture and networks.Knowledge of telecommunication systems, protocols, and access requests.Understanding of Technical Regulatory Frameworks (TRF).Effective communication skills and the ability to lead a small team when needed.Flexibility to support last-minute demands and adapt to changing environments.Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold NV1 security clearance.To join their high-performing team, please click “apply now”.
