Leading the Humanities Department
As a senior educational leader, you will have responsibility for developing and articulating a shared vision for quality learning outcomes in the Humanities faculty.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher-leader with a strong track record of success in leading teaching and learning, embedding socially just practices, and fostering academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the school department in collaboration with the school leadership team to develop and implement a shared educational vision
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life
* Display high-quality leadership that sets high standards and directly influences staff and student engagement, improvement, achievement, and wellbeing
* Lead teaching and learning within the context of the Humanities faculty, focusing on the Australian Curriculum and senior pathways, including ATAR outcomes
* Empower students to experience academic success through inclusive practices that enable access, participation, purposeful engagement, and yearly growth in learning
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development
* Form partnerships with students, parents, government agencies, and community groups
* Be futures-oriented and strategic
* Understand legislation and policies impacting schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department
* Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals
