About Us:
Larvotto Resources (LVR) is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent, UG Mine Operations (Alternate) to support our team and community in Armidale, NSW. Hillgrove is located 23km east of Armidale which is considered a well-serviced regional city surrounded by natural beauty. It is centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney and is only a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
About the Role
As the Superintendent, UG Mine Operations (Alternate), reporting to the Superintendent UG Mine Operations and the UG Mine Manager, this is a pivotal role within a mining organisation, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of a range of underground mining projects and associated services.
This role serves as a critical liaison between project teams, contractors, engineering staff, and senior management, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of projects aligned with business goals and regulatory standards. You will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional organisational skills to drive project success in a highly dynamic and challenging underground mining environment.
This permanent opportunity, on an 8 days on, 6 days off / Day & Night shift roster.
Residential role, relocation assistance will also be provided to Armidale, NSW.
Key Responsibilities and experience will include:
* Project Planning and Coordination
* Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets for a variety of underground mine projects, including infrastructure upgrades, equipment installation, service expansions, and rehabilitation works.
* Facilitate project kick-off meetings, coordinating input from engineering, geology, safety, and operations teams.
* Track progress, identify potential issues or bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions to maintain project momentum and achieve milestones.
* Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
* Ensuring adequate pro-active monitoring to maintain a safe work environment.
* Lead and mentor Production Supervisors across shift operations.
* Ensuring compliance with the applicable WHS and other acts and regulations.
* Reporting and documentation of operational performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NSW Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency / Practicing Certificate (highly desirable)
* 10+ years underground mining operations, with a demonstrable track record in coordinating complex projects.
* Comprehensive understanding of underground mining methods, Infrastructure, equipment, safety regulations and statutory requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience managing contractors, service providers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Other Requirements:
* Valid manual driver's license (required).
* First Aid Certificate/CPR Qualification (highly desirable).
* Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
* Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (NPC) - Less than 6months old
* Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
