Facilities Shift Operator FIFO page is loaded Facilities Shift Operator FIFO Apply remote type On-site locations OCONUS-Australia-Alice Springs time type Full time posted on Posted 7 Days Ago job requisition id R Experience Passion Purpose Facilities Operators The Facilities Shift Operator plays an integral role in ensuring safe, reliable & effective Operation of site.The Facilities Shift Operator is a part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation and control of all site infrastructure, utilities and equipment.As a Facilities shift Operator you will manage critical power, generation, cooling and hydraulic systems whilst keeping accurate records, completing routine inspections and compiling data on site infrastructure, equipment and essential operating systems.Facilities Shift Operators also play a role in switching between different power, generation & utilities configurations and performing safe equipment isolations whilst guaranteeing site reliability.
This will include technical assessment and investigation of proposed isolation and configuration changes to utilities, Equipment and infrastructure.Additionally, Facilities Shift Operator will be called upon to react and provide emergency response ensuring site service interruptions are avoided and all critical components are operational.
This will include performing maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure.This is a diverse, multi-facetted position within a team of specialized experts who have control over and maintain a unique site.
As a member of this team, you will join one of 4 shift teams on a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off roster (12hr shifts) to guarantee 24/7 support and coverage to the facility and all utilities and equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities/DutiesMonitor/ control site infrastructure and equipmentConduct safe configuration change and equipment isolationTechnical assessment and technical documentation writing and reviewRoutine equipment inspection, data collection and metric reportingConduct maintenance and repair to equipment and componentsComplete reports, incident and event data collectionInvestigate and review system anomaliesLead and contribute to development of technical process and proceduresEnsure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirementsAny other reasonable duties as requested QUALIFICATIONS Minimum EssentialExperience in relevant industry or Trade assistance position or equivalent experience and skills Applicable experience may include but not be limited to the following trades :ElectricalPlumbingRefrigerationMechanicalCommunication/ cablingFire technicianPlant/ system controlSecurity or CCTV systems ORExperience in related facilities operations or SCADA system operationsStrong understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective)Understanding of technical plans and drawings with the ability to read and assess plans and or technical documentsBasic computer skills including Office 365 programs and excelMust be a U.S. citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TS SCI with poly or must be an Australian citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TSPVDriver's License DesirableStrong understanding of Infrastructure, facilities equipment and functionality within a large operational facility5 years post apprenticeship trade experience or experience as Facilities/ infrastructure OperatorHV switching certification/ experienceExperience in Power Generation or Power NetworksExperience working with HMI based control systems/ SCADA or BMS systemsHV switching certificationFirst response/aidConfined space entryHigh riskDogger/ rigger/ Crane license EXPERIENCE - Minimum Essential 2 Years minimum post trade experience as qualified tradesperson INITIAL EMPLOYMENT EXPECTATIONS It is expected that new employees starting with operations commence and subsequently complete the initial employment training modules within the employee qualifying period of 6 months.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDSFacilities Shift Operators should be able to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work of light to moderately heavy physicalityThe position will also require some extended periods sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI.
Additionally, there may be extended periods of office work reading and interpreting plans and completing technical documentationThe position may also call for extended periods of manual trade-based labour and time on feet working with tools and equipmentAttention to detail and high concentration levels are required along with the ability to multi task and perform thorough decision-making processes SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.
The employee will initially require a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) and be expected to obtain Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTSAll personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be:At least 18 years of age.Able to fluently read, write and speak English EHS REQUIREMENT All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements.
