Position Summary
Relief staff at our College play a vital role in supporting a Christ-centred, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for students across the school. Relief Teachers, Education Assistants, and Administration staff contribute to the continuity of learning and care by supporting classroom programs, student wellbeing, and daily school operations as required.
Working collaboratively with teachers, leadership, and support staff, relief team members uphold the College's vision and values, foster positive relationships, and help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming school culture. This role supports students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth while contributing to the smooth and effective functioning of our College community.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
* Relief Teacher:
o Deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning programs in line with provided lesson plans and College expectations
o Create a safe, inclusive, and Christ-centred classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing
o Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour support
o Build respectful relationships with students and staff, providing continuity of learning
o Communicate relevant information to classroom teachers and leadership as required
* Relief Education Assistant:
o Support student learning under the direction of the classroom teacher, including small groups or individual students
o Assist students with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation
o Support students with additional learning or pastoral needs
o Help maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive learning environment
o Supervise students during class and transitions as required
* Relief Administration:
o Provide front office support, including welcoming families and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
o Assist with daily administrative tasks such as data entry, attendance, communication, and general enquiries
o Support the smooth operation of the school by responding to changing daily needs
o Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
o Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to uphold the College's values and culture
Qualifications & Experience
Teaching applicants: Must be registered to teach in Western Australia with the TRBWA (Teacher Registration Board) and hold a relevant Tertiary Qualifications as a teacher including experience with the WA & Australian Curriculum or a similar School Curriculum.
Have a current Federal Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
