Who's hiring?
Founded in 1989, PMB Defence is a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and supporting military submarine battery systems. We started with Main Storage Batteries for COLLINS Class submarines, and today our work spans Australia and select international markets — specialising in lead acid, nickel zinc, and lithium battery solutions for naval platforms. We know that minutes of battery life can mean the difference between mission success and failure — and that's why we build every system to the highest possible standard.
Named SME of the Year at the 2022 Australian Defence Industry Awards, and Defence Exporter of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, we're proudly based at Osborne and backed by a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and experts in their field.
So, what's the role?
We're on the lookout for a proactive Accounts Administrator to play a key role in supporting our finance operations in Osborne. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the finance function with a focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, and general administrative support.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy and attention to detail are key. You'll be processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing petty cash and credit card reconciliations, and assisting with timesheets and other finance-related administration. You'll also provide backup reception support when needed, making this a varied role where no two days look the same.
Here's what a typical week might look like:
* Managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including invoice matching, coding, and payment preparation
* Reconciling supplier accounts and ensuring timely and accurate payments
* Maintaining the supplier database and processing credit applications
* Handling petty cash and reconciling company credit card statements
* Entering daily timesheets for production staff and assisting with payroll coding checks
* Supporting the finance team with general clerical and administrative tasks
* Providing backup reception support by answering phones and greeting visitors
You could be the right fit if you:
* Have some previous accounts payable experience
* Are proactive, flexible, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to support the team wherever needed.
* Bring strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management
* Communicate clearly and work well in a team environment
* Are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and comfortable learning ERP systems (experience with Greentree or similar is a bonus)
What's in it for you?
* Work in a varied role where you'll have a real impact on the day-to-day running of the finance team
* Join a collaborative, supportive environment that values people as much as performance
* Gain exposure to a dynamic defence manufacturing business with opportunities to grow your skills
* Be part of an inclusive, professional culture where initiative, accuracy, and teamwork are recognised
Other requirements
As part of this role, you'll need to be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
