About the Role
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role to lead and support key finance functions, bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and other financial reporting and analysis tasks.
This position is primarily based at our Head Office in Shellharbour, NSW.
Role Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team including, training, mentoring and supporting the team. Set clear action plans and goals in aiding the professional development of the team.
* Oversee the End of Month (EOM) bank reconciliations, processing and report to the MD within (5) working days of the EOM close. Submit additional reports as requested to the MD (e.g. EOM Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet (BS), Cash Flow Statement (CFS), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Reports).
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
* Preparation and analysis of management accounts and financial reports.
* Assist the MD with the preparation of budgets, management accounts and forecasting.
* Support the team with the preparation of monthly BAS and yearly FBT return.
* Schedule and complete Annual External Audits and Internal Audits, as required in accordance with the ELT and MD.
* Prepare accurate and timely tax reconciliations and tax forms to meet the financial and tax requirements and compliance obligations including, GST, FBT and PAYG.
* Oversee the finalisation of month end related journals, dealing with any issues as they arise.
* Provide advice, financial analysis and/or costing of business unit initiatives and projects to maximise opportunities for approval and to ensure commercial viability.
* Ensure fortnightly payroll files are prepared with two checks and a control for MD approval, in accordance with the FSA Delegations of Authority (DoA) Policy and Matrix.
What we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Finance, or MBA, with willingness to attain membership in a professional accounting body, or equivalent CA ANZ or CPA membership.
* Minimum two (2) years' experience in managing and leading a finance team.
* Experience in a community services environment or similar, with proven ability to work cohesively and supportively with teams.
* Strong ability to meet deadlines and plan workloads efficiently to meet company and client expectations.
* Proactive problem-solving skills to address operational priorities with sustainable solutions.
* Capacity to build, develop, and nurture positive partnerships with service providers, and productive working relationships with FSA staff, the SLG, and ELT.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage large transaction volumes and conduct complex financial analysis.
* Excellent prioritisation, time, and project management skills, with resilience and calmness in dynamic environments.
* Ability to support a multi-disciplined environment with high standards of care, compliance, quality assurance, audit, and risk management.
* Outstanding internal and external communication and interpersonal skills to aid staff development.
* Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check (NPC).
