The Opportunity
As Refunds Team Leader, you will supervise and support the Refunds Team in processing and auditing refund applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage. You will provide training, coaching, and leadership to team members, fostering their professional development and maintaining high standards. In addition, you will advise on refund processes and interpret relevant acts, regulations, and legislation, offering guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. Preparing correspondence and reports, investigating opportunities for process improvements, and reviewing policy documentation to ensure best practice will also be key aspects of your role.
Furthermore, you will analyse and resolve complex refund enquiries, ensuring all actions comply with departmental policies and relevant legislation. Liaising with stakeholders to address non-compliance and outstanding transactions will be part of your responsibilities, as will undertaking performance reviews and contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.
Currently there is one (1) fixed term opportunity available with the possibility of extension(s) or permanency.

About you
* Experienced in financial management practices and procedures
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* High-level oral and written communication skills
* Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution
* Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team
* Proficient in using computers and relevant software packages
* Able to interpret and advise on acts, regulations, policies, and procedures
* Ideally, knowledgeable in Transport's Executive Licensing Information System (TRELIS)
