Team Member - Location :City Operations (Irrigation Maintenance)About the Role:As part of the Parks & Landscapes team, this role is responsible for maintaining Council's irrigation systems across parks, streetscapes, and sportsgrounds to ensure efficiency, safety, and water use effectiveness.
The role supports the city's visual appeal and contributes to a safe, functional urban environment.Key Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and maintain pressurised and central control irrigation systems.Undertake regular inspections, audits, and reactive repairs.Set up and manage flow systems and watering schedules, ensuring alignment with seasonal needs and recycled water limitations.Train and support team members in irrigation best practices.Maintain turf surfaces to a safe standard and report on turf health.Read and monitor water meters and soil moisture for efficient system performance.Engage with internal teams, contractors, and residents to ensure high service standards.Contribute to a positive safety culture and adhere to WHS and Council procedures.Requirements:Certificate III in Irrigation Technology or HorticultureMR Driver's LicenceExperience in commercial irrigation maintenanceKnowledge of central irrigation software systemsAbility to interpret irrigation plans and troubleshoot faultsGood communication, teamwork, and organisational skillsBackhoe competency and relevant plant operation licencesChemCert accreditation (transport and application)White Card, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Work Zone Traffic ManagementMandatory Clearances:National Criminal History CheckPre-employment MedicalEmployees are expected to the companys Foundation Principles of Full Disclosure, Do No Harm, and Attend to the Needs of Others, ensuring ethical, transparent, and community-focused service delivery.
