Ngarrabullgan Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (NNTAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) for Ngarrabullgan Mountain and its surrounding areas.
Ngarrabullgan is a place of exceptional cultural, historical, and research significance. It is one of the oldest known occupied places in Australia, with evidence of continuous human occupation for more than 37,000 years. The Ngarrabullgan Cave site plays a vital role in understanding the history of settlement on the Australian continent and is recognised as one of Australia's most important archaeological locations.
NNTAC supports the protection of Native Title rights and undertakes governance, compliance, and administrative functions on behalf of its members.
About the Role
NNTAC is seeking a Finance and Administration Officer to provide high-quality financial, administrative, and governance support to the organisation.
This part-time role is ideal for an organised and reliable professional who enjoys working across finance, administration, and board support in a small, collaborative office environment. The position supports day-to-day financial operations, office administration systems, and Board and management activities.
Hours: 6 hours per day, 4 days per week (24 hours per week)
Indicative hours: 8:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday
Location: Cairns, with some flexibility to work from home
Key Responsibilities
Finance and Payroll
* Process accounts payable and receivable using Xero
* Manage bill payments, reconciliations, and financial records
* Prepare and process staff timesheets
* Support payroll processing and related documentation
* Assist with financial reporting as required
Administration and Office Support
* Maintain efficient office systems and administrative processes
* Manage records, filing, correspondence, and document control
* Coordinate bookings, meetings, and events
* Provide general administrative support to staff and management
Governance and Board Support
* Prepare meeting agendas and papers
* Accurately record minutes for Board and committee meetings
* Track and follow up action items
* Maintain confidentiality and support governance requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Certificate III in Accounts Administration, Certificate III in Business, or equivalent
* Proven experience in a similar finance and/or administration role, including bookkeeping
* Experience using the Xero accounting system
* Demonstrated experience working with First Nations people and organisations
* Ability to support engagement in meetings, consultations, and project activities
* Experience organising and coordinating meetings, bookings, and events
* Ability to prepare and process general correspondence
* Experience maintaining filing systems and records
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Current Queensland C-Class Driver Licence
Desirable
* Knowledge, or the ability to quickly obtain knowledge, of Native Title and the PBC operating environment
* Experience supporting Boards, committees, or not-for-profit organisations
