Key Responsibilities
* Undertakes full range of duties under limited supervision.
* Will have clearly defined procedures in the movement and administration of goods in warehouses.
* Performs cargo receival arrangements.
* Ensures customer requirements are met and cargo handling is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
* Coordinate the workload of the casual labour.
* Work with the supervisor in managing the roster for the week.
* Supervising weekend work when required.
* Liaise with the supervisor on cut of times and cascade this to the team and drivers.
* Action emails / manage empty requests / book transport to collect ULDs.
* Overlook the stock receivable and match the port marking at the time of loading.
* Attention to detail when it comes to sealing the correct ULDs.
Key Accountabilities
* Completed day-to-day work requirements as part of Warehouse team.
* Performs cargo checks and balances against manifest documents.
* Checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documents.
* Follows-up shipment status, identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents.
* Load and unload trucks quickly and safely ensuring safe and accurate check in and storage of freight until it leaves our facility.
* Building of export units for transfer overseas including LifeScience shipments.
* Required to perform Manual handling tasks as a mandatory component of the position i.e., requirement to lift cartons.
* Disposal of Company records as requested by Supervisor.
* Report all irregularities, tampering or damage to freight.
* Always keep warehouse clean and tidy.
* Report any damages to Supervisor as soon as possible.
* Present a courteous attitude to staff, customs, couriers, and any persons presenting themselves the warehouse requiring assistance.
* Additional tasks as instructed by Department Manager / Supervisor.
To be successful, you will need:
* Knowledge and previous Warehousing experience.
* Knowledge of load restraint or similar.
* Results driven and attention to details.
* Self‐directed and proactive working style.
* Fluent in English communication (verbal/written).
* Be physically fit, as there is a manual handling component.
* High attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
* Ability to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
