Complex Claims Specialist
The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop their experience and expertise in Commercial Property, Energy, and Specialty Insurance.
* Manage key claims handling enquiry; coverage determination and quantum analysis for complex claims
* Ensure effective vendor and litigation management on Complex claims within a personal allocation, including demonstrable savings
* Deliver technical training to colleagues and external contacts as appropriate
* Ensure adherence to best practice procedures for Property & Energy Complex claims, consistent with global best practice
* Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimising indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense
* Energy portfolio messages to internal stakeholders and customers/clients
* Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline
* Accurate and consistent policy interpretation
* Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
* Good presentation skills and file knowledge
* Time management – ability to manage & prioritise workload and diary management
* Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment and with internal/external stakeholders at all levels
* Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
* Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Graduate Diploma of General Insurance (or equivalent) – preferred
* Bachelor Degree Finance, Business Management or Similar - preferred
* Comprehensive experience in dealing with business pack, commercial property and/or energy claims including business interruption matters is essential
* Proven ability in the interpretation and application of commercial policy wordings
* Experience with claim negotiations and strong interpersonal flexibility is a necessity
* Demonstrated capability in the effective management of various stakeholders including loss adjusters, lawyers and other experts
* Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, brokers and clients
