Your opportunityThe School Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN) is a clinical nurse who contributes to the prevention of illness and injury in young people through the establishment and delivery of health optimisation programs and the provision of health information, brief health intervention and referral for State Secondary School students.
Utilising primary health care strategies, the SBYHN supports the health and well-being of school students and the broader school community.
In addition, the SBYHN applies clinical expertise and professional capabilities to effectively support State Schools in addressing the changing and complex needs of young people through a whole of school approach to health promotion that achieves optimal health and wellbeing outcomes for young people.
