**About the role**
The **full-time, 5-month contract** role is **35 hours** per week, **Monday to Friday**, working from the **Council Administration Building, Nowra**. The role is currently positioned in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.
You will be a highly skilled stakeholder engagement professional with extensive experience and confidence, working with diverse and complex communities internal and external to Council.
**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Coordinator - Marketing and Community Engagement, the focus of this position is to:
- Plan, develop and deliver effective community engagement plans
- Develop and implement a range of community consultation activities (toolkits, workshops, forums)
- Build strong relationships and provide community engagement advice to the community and staff of Council
**Skills & Experience**
To be successful in the position, you will possess:
- Qualifications in Communications, Social Science, Engagement or related disciplines or equivalent experience in a community engagement environment
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in community engagement
- Satisfy a Police Check
- Hold Australian citizenship, residency or appropriate visa
You will also need
- Demonstrated knowledge of IAP2 principles of Stakeholder Engagement
- Ability to facilitate and present information to community meetings and forums, relevant groups, business and stakeholders in the local community
- Knowledge and experience using online platforms to be able to update the "Get Involved Shoalhaven" website.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, self motivation and professionalism.
Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
