Our client is a respected organisation with a strong reputation accross South East Queensland. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking an experiencedStructural Steel Detailer with strong Tekla Structures expertise to join their team on the Sunshine Coast.
This role offers the chance to work on diverse and technically challenging projects in a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll be using your Tekla and AutoCAD skills to produce accurate drawings and documentation, while working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
* Review and interpret architectural and structural documentation.
* Manage multiple residential drafting projects from start to finish.
* Generate NC data, shop drawings, and reports for fabrication.
* Maintain drawing registers and ensure compliance with standards.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve queries.
* Participate in project meetings and attend site visits as required.
* Mentor and support junior drafters when needed.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in residential and commercial structural steel detailing.
* Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD.
* Strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
* Current Driver's Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
* Background in steel fabrication and detailing across varied project types.
* Trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering, drafting, or construction.
* Previous experience in the residential construction industry.
