The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity is now available for a motivated Senior Inventory Controller to join our team. We are currently undergoing a period of transformation, and are looking for a dedicated team member who is ready to make this role their own and take ownership for Inventory Management across the Company.
As the successful applicant for this position, you will have the confidence to manage the day to day stock flow, stock timing and control whilst building inventory processes and systems that drive continual improvement. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position is a hands-on role, and is best suited for someone who has had extensive experience across varying inventory management roles.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
* Develop, manage and work to the Company's yearly inventory management strategy and plans based on forecasts from historical demand information;
* Analyse data to determine the rate of stock being consumed, and subsequently forecast upcoming demand, this includes taking action if stock replenishment plans need adjusting;
* Maintain optimum stock levels by preparing requisitions to replenish stock via both local and internal suppliers;
* Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM);
* Lead a project to improve the Company's inventory system, bring all data in the system up to date and the maintain the systems ongoing effectiveness and accuracy;
* Ensure that inventory data in the system consistently matches actual stock in the warehouse.
* Investigate, manage, and highlight any inventory discrepancies or inaccuracies, address these problems and find resolutions;
* Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory and complete inventory reporting;
* Review and monitor documentation provided with deliveries to troubleshoot any discrepancies.
* Point of contact for supply issues;
* Ensure that inventory policies and procedures are adhered to;
* Supervise and mentor the Junior Inventory Controller, who is a direct report; and
* Identify and recommend procurement/inventory improvements throughout the company to ensure cost efficiencies and improve effectiveness.
About You
As the successful applicant for the role, you will have:
* At least 5 years previous demonstrated experience working in a similar role
* A willingness to learn and a flexible, professional, and positive "Can Do" attitude towards work
* A driver of change, someone who pushes continual improvement, seeks to solve problems and doesn't just accept status quo
* Demonstrated experience using computerised Inventory Control Software
* Demonstrated capability building effective relationships with key stakeholders to achieve best practice outcomes
* Demonstrated experience using computerised Microsoft Office packages
* Organised, with high attention to detail and a focus on quality
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* The ability to work under pressure and prioritise to meet deadlines
* Self-motivated with the ability to work well individually and within a team
