The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a commercially driven technical sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer partnerships and uncovering growth opportunities. This position is based in Townsville to service growth in Bowen Basin and outside regions.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for maintaining existing direct & distribution customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities across various industry sectors such as mining and associated heavy industry, red meat, OEM, food and beverage, water resources, general manufacturing & engineering.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve sales targets
* Manage and grow relationships across direct customers and distribution partners
* Identify and convert new business opportunities within target industries
* Conduct joint customer visits with technical and product specialists
* Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM data
* Analyse market trends and identify growth opportunities
* Stay up to date with new product releases and applications
About You

* Tertiary qualifications in engineering essential, in either Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation.
* Possess exceptional rapport building and relationship building skills
* Solid organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Sound problem solver and reasoning skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience using MS Office suite of programs
* Possess a safety mindset to successfully operate within and promote a safe working environment
* Hold a current driver's central license
* Must have unrestricted work rights
Highly regarded, otherwise training will be provided
* Any technical sales experience, especially with managing a designated sales territory with significant budget accountability and proven consistent track record
* Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or engineering sectors
* CRM software package experience and administrative discipline highly regarded
