Job Description



The primary purpose of the Laboratory Technician is to ensure that products or processes meet specified quality standards and comply with industry standards including EFSA & FDA requirements, and FSSC 22000 certification requirements.

Main Accountabilities

* Conduct routine testing and analysis, record and monitoring of test samples in line with standard operating procedures.
* Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for process optimization and present this data in graphic and written form.
* Maintain the quality of testing through the calibration of test equipment the testing of laboratory supplies.
* Train and mentor Production Operators on testing requirements
* Conduct quality inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and prevent defects.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Maintain quality documentation
* Act as a liaison with customers, and suppliers to address quality-related inquiries, audits, and requirements.
* Have intimate knowledge of FSSC 22000 V 5.1 and ongoing 3rd party system certification requirements.
* Understanding of EFSA, FDA & Customer specific requirements that relate to the site, and ensuring identified PRP’s are managed in line with requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO standards).
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive process improvements.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and compliance.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
* Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.

REM: $90,000 plus super
