The Role
Join the Country Road Childrenswear team as the Merchandise Planner for the department. Support the Merchandise Manager in all aspects of merchandising planning including the production of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and reporting on all aspects of inventory for specific channels within the divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, this role is responsible for stock management and forecasting against key business KPIs to deliver the company financial targets
- Project future sales by identifying chance and risk at category level and make decisions in season to trade the business
- Establish budgets for sales, markdowns, purchases, stock levels, stock turn and margin for childrenswear
- Provide the product teams with a framework and option plan for future seasons
- Attend monthly range sign off meetings, provide input and complete the range buy each month ensuring to take historical knowledge and future trend into account.
- Prepare and present the monthly buy to the Design team and Leadership team in conjunction with Junior planners for buying and presenting and Planning Analysts for preparation of presentation documents.
- Lead a team of 2 Junior Planner and 3 Planning Analysts
- Highly analytical with a strong understanding of the merchandise planning function
- Previous merchandise planning experience, having operated at a planner level with prior leadership experience would be beneficial
- Advanced excel skills and an ability to use planning systems effectively
- Strong commercial and retail knowledge
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management experience
