We work with children, young people and their families (where appropriate) to identify and address therapeutic needs and support transitions to family‐based care settings or reunification. Our assets are safe homes and therapeutic environments for children and young people in care.

Role Description

This role is offered on a permanent part‐time pro‐rat basis, with two positions available – one based in Brisbane, QLD, and one based in Adelaide, SA. Each role will be responsible for supporting assets within its respective state.

What you will be doing
* Complete minor works where appropriate, within licence and safe working scope.
* Manage building compliance obligations across the asset portfolio.
* Inspect completed works to ensure high standards of quality and compliance.
* Interpret and apply the NCC, Australian Standards, ESM and statutory requirements.
* Conduct site inspections and compliance audits.
* Identify non‐conformances and work with contractors on practical, compliant outcomes.
* Review certifications, reports and compliance documentation.
* Support WHS requirements relating to building and fire safety.
* Provide clear, practical advice on compliance priorities and remediation works.
This requires
* Practical understanding of construction methods, building systems and services.
* Ability to apply legislation, standards and certification with real‐world judgement.
* Confidence to question and challenge contractor or consultant advice where needed.
* Strong judgement developed through active job‐site experience.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in asset, facilities, property or building compliance roles.
* Experience coordinating maintenance works and external contractors.
* Ability to interpret plans, quotes, reports and compliance documentation.
* Confidence engaging contractors and stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes.
* A practical, solutions‐focused approach to asset and maintenance issues.
Highly Regarded
* Relevant trade or asset‐related qualifications.
* Experience in not‐for‐profit or community sector environments.
* Confidence working with people from diverse communities.
* Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with a commitment to culturally respectful practice.

Who we are looking for
* Brings strong practical building experience.
* Comfortable working independently across varied environments.
* Understands the importance of maintaining safe, compliant homes for vulnerable children and young people.
You'll also need
* Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
* Valid Australian working rights.
* Current Working with Children Check and Child Safe Environments certification.
* Provisional Green or above Drivers Licence in the state of employment (QLD or SA).
* Ability to obtain any additional legislated clearances as required.
