Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products meet our strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on role where you will:

* Inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products against engineering drawings and specifications using CMM arm, gauges, verniers, and other tools
* Manage non-conformance reports and returns from initiation to closure, including supplier communication and updates to our enterprise resource planning system
* Perform and evaluate rework/repairs to ensure compliance with specifications
* Implement quality stock management practices such as segregation, labeling, and inventory checks
* Support audits and contribute to corrective/preventive actions
* Communicate with suppliers regarding returns, rework, credit, and quality issues
* Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment
* Provide accurate inspection reports and support structured problem-solving for 8D and continuous improvement processes
* Provide guidance and training to Production and Warehouse teams on quality requirements

About Your Qualifications

You are a practical, hands-on inspector with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are confident working with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and you understand the importance of accuracy, traceability, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Your Background

* 3–5 years' experience in quality control, inspection, or assurance in heavy truck and trailer industry
* Understanding of metrology and experience using verniers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM arms
* Knowledge of non-conformance, corrective action, return merchandise authorization processes and enterprise resource planning systems
* Experience using hand and power tools for rework/repair
* Forklift and/or reach truck license with capability to handle heavy parts safely
* Proficiency in MS Office tools and general computer literacy
* Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
