About our Client
Our client is seeking experienced and motivated Steel Fixers for long-term casual positions in the Northern suburbs.
This role involves working in a well-equipped workshop, preparing prefabricated steel components for a major construction project in Adelaide. It is not site-based, making it ideal for those who prefer a structured workshop setting.
Applicants should be reliable, knowledgeable in steel fixing, safety-conscious, punctual, and physically fit, regardless of background.
Responsibilities:
1. Assembling reinforced mild steel cages for infrastructure concrete works
2. Manufacturing heavy gauge cages
3. Reading and interpreting steel fixing plans and drawings
4. Cutting, bending, and tying rebar and mesh to specifications
5. Ensuring all work complies with drawings, schedules, and guidelines
6. Maintaining quality and adhering to work plans
Work is scheduled Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and Saturday work.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of reinforced rods and cages
- Ability to follow CAD plans
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer (workshop or site-based)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a skilled environment
- Good communication skills
- Additional tickets (e.g., Forklift, Overhead Crane) are a bonus
