Your new role
* Manage the safe and sustainable operation of existing and developing wind assets, adhering to technical specifications, performance standards, and compliance/regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, taking a lead role engaging with technical experts (AEMO, Western Power, Vestas, AMSC) and EPC contractors.
* Implement policies, practices and procedures that ensures the health, safety and wellbeing of all workplace participants, and material sustainability of operations.
* Interpret complex technical drawings, conduct investigations and technical analysis of wind farm operations and components to determine reliability, performance and compliance with specifications.
* Ensure commerciality of operations including management of Original Equipment Manufacturers' service and availability agreements.
* Support the end-to-end origination, development, procurement and technical delivery of new wind projects in collaboration with the Project Development team.
* Validate design, scope of works and technical specification documents for activities including procurement and tenders.
* Actively check and oversee design, construction and commissioning outcomes, managing contractor delivery for various EPC packages.
What you'll need to succeed
* Mechanical Engineering qualification, registered with Engineers Australia.
* Working knowledge of wind farm operations and development, in particular Wind Turbines and their performance.
* Experience in a commercial company with exposure to project lifecycle of energy assets, from development and design, to construction, commissioning and ongoing operations and maintenance.
* Knowledge of relevant Australian and International Standards.
* Understanding of local government processes and technical rules, ideally in the WEM or NEM (Western Power and AEMO).
* Advanced MS Office computer skills, in particular Excel and Visio.
* Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive, who demonstrates strategic initiative.
* Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Superior written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
* Able to take accountability and ownership for role responsibilities with minimal oversight.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to apply complex technical concepts to deliver practical outcomes.
* Demonstrates innovative thinking and a business improvement mindset.
