Assistant Venue Manager | Bert's City Beach

Set on the coast at City Beach, Bert's is a premium hospitality venue known for polished service, strong beverage culture, elevated food, and a venue experience that feels both refined and genuinely warm. We're looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who can help lead from the floor, drive standards, and play a key role in the day-to-day success of one of Perth's most exciting venues.
This is a role for someone who loves hospitality at a high level — someone who understands service, can lead a team with energy and accountability, and takes pride in the details that make a venue exceptional.
About the role
As Assistant Venue Manager, you'll work closely with the Venue Manager and broader leadership team to oversee daily operations, support the development of the team, and ensure service standards remain consistently high across all touchpoints.
You'll be expected to be a visible leader on the floor, bring structure to service, and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing evolution of the venue.
What you'll be responsible for
* Supporting the Venue Manager in the day-to-day operation of the venue
* Leading service periods with confidence, presence, and strong floor control
* Driving exceptional guest experience and maintaining premium service standards
* Coaching, developing, and holding team members accountable
* Supporting rostering, labour management, and productivity outcomes
* Maintaining strong beverage and product knowledge across the team
* Assisting with stock control, ordering, and cost management
* Ensuring venue presentation, cleanliness, and operational readiness are always on point
* Managing service flow, reservations, and guest feedback professionally and proactively
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
* Upholding compliance, licensing, and health & safety standards
* Working collaboratively with kitchen and bar leadership to deliver a seamless guest experience
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in a management role within a premium restaurant, bar, or high-volume hospitality venue
* A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
* Strong floor leadership and the ability to stay calm and composed under pressure
* Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead, direct, and motivate a team
* High standards around service, presentation, and attention to detail
* Strong understanding of labour, stock control, and venue systems
* Wine and beverage knowledge is highly regarded
* Ability to balance hands‐on service leadership with operational discipline
* A positive, solutions‐focused attitude and a desire to keep improving
* Availability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
