The role is part of an exciting new team at Launceston General Hospital (LGH) within the newly establishing Rheumatology and Persistent Pain Service, enhancing equity of access to specialist rheumatology services in Northern Tasmania.
The Role
This position requires an experienced nurse who can provide leadership, support and expert advice to other members of the health care team to ensure the efficient and effective coordination and provision of nursing care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, as well as being a clinical resource for patients and carers. The Rheumatology CNC will also coordinate and evaluate the intake, planning, assessment, evaluation and discharge processes for Rheumatology clients referred from both the acute sector and the community within an outpatient setting.
You will need
* Demonstrated ability to apply contemporary nursing theory and practice in the management of complex patients.
* Demonstrated adaptability and a strong interest in acquiring specialised knowledge and clinical expertise in Rheumatology.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate a capacity to provide clinical leadership and exercise professional judgement and initiative whilst working with minimal supervision.
Details of appointment
Permanent, full‐time day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time and casual vacancies.
Salary
* $114,851 to $121,886 per annum, based on the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* 12% superannuation contribution on top of salary.
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility
* Essential: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Desirable: Holds or is working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications; current driver's licence.
