Community Engagement & Funeral Arranger
Location: Bundaberg & Fraser Coast Region
Des Allen & Co. Funerals is a respected, family-owned funeral home serving the Greater Bundaberg and Fraser Coast communities for over 25 years. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism to families during their most difficult times.
We are seeking a motivated and community-minded professional to join our team in a unique dual role that combines Community Engagement & Marketing with Funeral Arranging.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Marketing
● Represent Des Allen Funerals at community events, expos, and local initiatives, acting as the "face" of our business in the community.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, aged care facilities, retirement villages, churches, support groups, and community leaders.
● Coordinate and promote information sessions, open days, and community education on topics such as funeral planning and prepaid options.
● Support and grow our presence through social media, newsletters, sponsorships, and local advertising.
● Develop opportunities to connect with the community in meaningful ways, always promoting our family-owned values and compassionate service.
Funeral Arranging
● Meet with families to arrange funerals, guiding them with empathy and professionalism.
● Coordinate services including venues, celebrants, clergy, and suppliers.
● Ensure compliance with all legal and administrative requirements.
● Provide ongoing family support before, during, and after the service.
About You
● Compassionate, empathetic, and community-minded.
● Confident in engaging with individuals and groups, with strong interpersonal skills.
● Marketing, events, or community engagement experience (highly regarded).
● Organised and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail.
● Current driver's licence (essential).
● Funeral arranging experience is desirable, but full training will be provided.
