ABOUT THE ROLE
SPM is seeking an Environment & Planning Consultant with a minimum of five years' experience to support and lead the delivery of environmental and statutory planning approvals across Victoria.
This role will involve managing end-to-end approvals processes including planning permit applications, EPA applications, environmental impact assessments, and associated technical documentation.
The successful candidate will work across projects in infrastructure, renewables, waste and resource recovery, industrial and coastal development, liaising closely with clients, regulators, referral authorities and specialist subconsultants.
This is a hybrid role that may be based in Torquay or Geelong, with involvement in projects across regional and metropolitan Victoria.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental consulting and/or planning.
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning or related discipline.
* Strong understanding of Victorian planning schemes and environmental regulatory frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience working with EPA Victoria, Planning & Environment Act, Environment Protection Act and environmental regulatory frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience managing planning and environmental approval processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisation and time management skills.
* Confident interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients and regulators.
* High attention to detail and strong quality focus.
* Project management experience (formal training preferred but not essential).
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
* Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia or a relevant professional body is desirable.
