Brighton Council is growing! As our community expands and major projects progress across the municipality, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineer to join our Asset Services team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Tasmania’s most dynamic and rapidly developing regions. You’ll play a key role in delivering customer‑focused, professional engineering services that support Council’s statutory responsibilities—and help shape the future of our community.
The Role
As a collaborative and solutions‑focused engineering professional, you will:
* Provide technical support to the Director Asset Services in the planning and development of stormwater, roads, bridges, reserves, buildings, GIS and waste management infrastructure.
* Maintain and update Council’s stormwater modelling systems to support long‑term planning and future growth.
* Collect and manage data to inform engineering design, asset management and planning.
* Support asset management activities including condition assessments, scheduled maintenance and lifecycle planning.
* Assist with forward planning, project development and engineering‑related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You bring tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, along with at least three (3) years of experience in a similar engineering role.
You’re someone who communicates clearly, manages your time well, and thrives when working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You also hold a current driver’s licence.
Why Join Us
Be part of a team delivering high‑quality infrastructure that supports a growing community. Work collaboratively with a supportive council and key partners to enhance our roads, stormwater, buildings and public spaces — contributing directly to Brighton Council’s vision for a sustainable, resilient and thriving municipality.
