POSITION SUMMARY:
Aussie Life Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at one of our SIL Houses. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide daily support and assistance to residents in their day-to-day activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence and social interaction.
* Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
* Assist residents in accessing community resources and participating in social and recreational activities.
* Administer medications and maintain accurate records as required.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including allied health professionals, to ensure the holistic well-being of residents.
* Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming living environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement that you have:
* Cert. 3 in Individual Support (preferred), with experience in handling challenging behaviours
* Excellent communication skills – able to listen actively and communicate clearly with participants and the Care Team
* A person who is respectful, friendly, and empathetic – able to build trust and create a safe, supportive environment
* You must have working rights in Australia
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* Current driver's licence, car registration and comprehensive car insurance
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
* Medication administration certificate (or wanting to train on this competency)
* NDIS Orientation Module
AVAILABILITY:
Current available shifts are from:
* Monday - Sunday
* 10 AM - 6 PM
* 6 PM - 7 AM (inactive sleepover from 10 PM - 6 AM)
* 7 AM - 1 PM (overlap with other staff)
