We’re on the lookout for a hands-on, solutions-focused Facilities Operations Officer to join our Emergency Services Agency (ESA) Facilities Assets and Equipment team. If you’re someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, managing contracts, coordinating maintenance, and making sure everything’s in top shape—this could be the role for you. What You’ll Be Doing Managing contracts for facilities services, repairs, maintenance, and specialist consultancies. Acting as the go-to person on site for external providers—making sure work is done right and meets compliance standards. Running our maintenance system (job logging), pulling reports, and helping others across the Directorate use it effectively. Supporting and guiding the operational team to deliver great property management services. Preparing reports, briefings, and advice for senior management and stakeholders. Helping improve how we do things—reviewing and refining policies and procedures. Pitching in with other tasks to help the team meet its goals. Keeping records in line with the Territory Records Act 2002. What We’re Looking For Solid experience managing facilities, assets, and equipment. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication—you’ll be representing the branch in meetings and with stakeholders. Confident leading a team and delivering results under pressure. Great people skills—you know how to collaborate, negotiate, and get things done. Comfortable working independently or as part of a team and always looking for ways to improve how things work.
