The traineeship includes on-the-job training, mentorship, and paid study time to complete a Certificate III in Dental Assistance. In a supported environment, our Dental Assistant trainee will learn to provide clinical chairside assistance to dentists and dental therapists, prepare and provide equipment for patients according to dental treatment, manage the supply of store items, and assist with oral health promotion activities.
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term 80.0 hours per fortnight - 12-month contract

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Genuine desire, commitment, and capacity to undertake a Dental Assistant traineeship.
- An understanding of, and genuine interest in, the duties of a Dental Assistant Trainee and the skills required.
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
- Work experience, volunteering, or study in the health industry is well regarded (but not mandatory).

The Oral Health Program provides a range of oral health services to clients of all ages in the East Gippsland area. The Oral Health Service features a well-equipped 6-chair surgery located within the Community Health Complex in Ross Street, Bairnsdale. The program also offers dental outreach services under a subregional model, including the Smiles 4 Miles and Smile Squad initiatives.
