Macadamia De-Husking Facility Manager – Bundaberg

Seasonal Role (Approximately 9 Months Per Year)

Attractive Salary + Supportive Team Environment

Nutworks is a proud, 100% Australian owned, Macadamia Processor, processing up to 10% of the Australian macadamia crop. The macadamias are processed, dried, cracked and value added at our purpose-built facilities located in Yandina and Cooroy on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

We are seeking an organised, hands-on Facility Manager to lead operations at our Bundaberg De-husking Site, starting in early 2026 in time for the upcoming macadamia season.

This seasonal position (around 9 months each year) is ideal for someone who enjoys work–life balance and wants time outside the harvest period for other employment, projects, or leisure pursuits.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing the receival and de-husking of macadamia nuts, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality processing throughout the harvest. This includes the careful handling of macadamia nuts using best industry practice to maintain product quality from receival through to delivery.

The role requires overseeing two shifts during the peak season, scaling back to one shift before and after the peak. You will be well supported by our Grower Liaison, who will coordinate grower deliveries, scheduling, and interactions.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage daily operations of the Bundaberg de-husking facility

· Ensure careful handling of macadamia nuts in line with best industry practice

· Develop and manage grower delivery schedules to balance intake and avoid oversupply.

· Lead and supervise seasonal shift teams (two shifts at peak, one at shoulder periods)

· Maintain safety, quality, and operational standards

· Work collaboratively with our Grower Liaison for delivery scheduling and communication

· Monitor throughput, performance, and workflow efficiency

Ideal Candidate

· Experience in agricultural processing, manufacturing, or similar operational environments

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in agricultural processing, manufacturing, or similar operational environments

· Strong leadership and organisational skills

· Ability to manage seasonal teams and changing workloads

· Good communication skills, especially with growers and internal staff

· Practical, proactive, and safety-focused mindset

· Australian work rights are required for this position

What We Offer

· Attractive salary

· A well-supported leadership role within a respected Australian macadamia processor

· Seasonal working arrangement offering significant downtime each year

· Opportunity to run a site with autonomy, backing, and clear systems

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
