Geologist Role at Centurion Mine
We are seeking an experienced geologist to join our technical services team. The selected candidate will play a key role in providing geological support to underground operations, ensuring accurate geological modeling, and contributing to safe and efficient coal production.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct underground mapping, face sampling, and structural interpretation to support production activities.
* Assist with geological modeling, coal quality control, and reconciliation.
* Monitor strata conditions and contribute to strata control and geotechnical integration.
* Support mine design and planning through accurate geological data interpretation.
* Maintain geological databases, records, and reporting systems.
* Provide relevant geological input in risk assessments and provide timely advice to operational teams.
* Liaise closely with mining and technical teams to optimize resource recovery and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in underground coal mining geology (longwall experience preferred).
Proficiency with geological modeling and data software (e.g. Vulcan, Deswik, acQuire, or equivalent).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Valid Australian working rights and willingness to work under a FIFO/DIDO roster model.
Ability to obtain a Queensland Coal Board Medical and Standard 11.
