**About the role**:
The Procurement team is responsible for the procurement of products and services bought for consumption by internal stakeholders. This role will be responsible for managing and providing strategic direction for the procurement of various Indirect categories including Ocean Freight, travel, LPG, PPE/Industrial Consumables, and others as assigned.
- The role will initiate and drive transformational change, through innovative thinking and delivery of procurement solutions, influencing at senior levels in the business.
- The role will be responsible for the development of strategies and supplier relationship plans, ensuring that the client is deriving sustainable best value from the relationships and ensuring supply risk is minimised.
- The role will participate in the development of strategic procurement frameworks, policies, procedures, and processes, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, add value, reduce risk, and improve service delivery to the client.
- They will take responsibility for developing strategic category initiatives, projects, and supplier relationships.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide category expertise and support to the wider procurement network or Business Units (BU's) as required.
- Manage stakeholders to ensure their needs are fully understood and that they understand procurement policy and strategies.
- Build and manage key stakeholder relationships in order to ensure sustainable best value for the client and minimise supply risk.
- Undertake robust, fair, and transparent sourcing exercises and contract negotiations to ensure full value is extracted from third party suppliers.
- Actively manage supply and commercial risk as it relates to supply of Indirect categories.
- Lead and execute implementation of initiatives within expected timeframes.
- Track savings of each initiative
- Manage clients Modern Slavery 3rd party tools and various Registers.
- As requested, undertake projects or activities as required.
**About the individual**:
- Experience procuring and managing indirect categories within large / complex organisation(s)
- Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, seen as engaging and able to build trust and rapport with diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to translate between technical and commercial outcomes.
- Commercial contract experience including high level of legal aptitude.
- Highly effective influencing and persuasion skills at all levels within organisations
- Proven project and change management expertise within challenging industries / organisations
- Knowledge of procurement best practice
- Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of adaptability and agility including time management to support key stakeholders.
- Understanding of Modern Slavery
- Advanced data interrogation skills whilst providing a concrete outcome.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Related degree qualification
- MCIPS preferred.
