The Health Workforce Queensland has an opening for a Full-Time General Practitioner to join their team in Townsville, Queensland.
This clinic provides general practice and healthcare services to families in the Kirwan and Townsville area. Flexible working hours are available and staff offer 60% of gross billing with an assured minimum annual salary.
1. Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate high quality clinical skill in general practice;
2. Judgement and Decision Making: Use professional clinical judgement in the delivery of rural general practice;
3. Medical Interventions: Evaluate and apply medical interventions consistent with evidence-based medicine;
4. Patient Records: Use a range of patient record and recall systems and maintain comprehensive patient records;
5. Emergency Situations: Recognize and manage deteriorating patients;
6. Safe Practice: Perform procedures safely and within your competence and defined scope of practice;
7. Therapeutic Agents: Demonstrate knowledge of common therapeutic agents, uses, dosages, adverse effects and potential drug interactions and prescribe safely;
8. Infection Control: Demonstrate knowledge of infection control principles and safe practice in relation to blood borne infections in patient care;
9. Communication: Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with patients and their families and other members of the health care team;
10. Documentation: Clearly document patient care and maintain complete and timely medical records/progress reports;
11. Compassion and Empathy: Show compassion for patients and sensitivity to their culture, ethnicity and spiritual issues;
12. Moral and Ethical Behaviour: Exhibit high standards of moral and ethical behaviour towards patients, families and colleagues including awareness of appropriate doctor/patient boundaries;
