As a **Tax Specialist - Trusts, **you will play an important role in supporting clients to understand their taxation and superannuation obligations and our compliance teams to ensure that we are delivering the right outcomes for our clients.
The focus of the role is to target the misuse of trusts within the privately owned and wealthy groups population (Private Wealth) to conceal information, mischaracterise transactions, artificially deal with trust income and exploit taxation laws to avoid tax. We also seek to undertake compliance activity to target known tax scheme promoters, individuals and businesses who participate in such arrangements.
We aim to build community confidence and encourage voluntary compliance by publicising our activities to show that taxpayers misusing trusts will be appropriately dealt with and undertaking education projects to improve voluntary compliance. We recognise that most trusts are used appropriately, and we will continue to help those who make genuine mistakes or are uncertain about how the law applies to their circumstances.
