Primary objective
The Executive Officer reports directly to the Director Corporate Services and provides quality advice and assistance to the
Executive Committee to support the effective operations of the Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption
(OICAC).
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level executive support and advice to the members of the Executive Committee including the provision of
secretarial, administrative and research support, and diary management.
2. Coordinate and assist in the implementation of projects and completion of operational tasks as directed by the Executive
Committee to support the achievement of office priorities and objectives.
3. Provide support and assistance to Directors and other staff of the OICAC on a range of legislative compliance matters, including
work health and safety obligations.
4. Develop and foster productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective
identification and delivery of sound advice and support to enhance delivery of services.
5. Act as the Commissioner’s Associate as required, when the OICAC holds examinations.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing support to senior executives and a proven ability to exercise sound judgement and
maintain political sensitivity and confidentiality.
2. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to research and develop correspondence and to effectively
communicate information to targeted audiences.
3. High level of planning, organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities, and respond flexibly and
proactively to changing priorities in a dynamic and highly sensitive setting.
4. Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge in the use of information technology and records management systems.
5. Proven high level of honesty, integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct.
6. Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a diverse range of
people.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience in the use of Northern Territory Government systems.
2. Relevant qualification in business administration or in a similar field.
