About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Melbourne. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is looking to gain hands‑on experience in accounting and finance within a fast‑growing, multinational organization.
You will support day‑to‑day finance operations, assist with month‑end processes, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate financial records and smooth system operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable & Dealer Claims
* Process payment invoices, dealer claims, and perform finance data entry
* Track dealer claims against accruals and support reconciliation activities
* Assist with staff reimbursement processing in line with company policies
* Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations
* Assist with bank reconciliations and investigate variances
* Support accounts receivable follow‑up, including providing coverage on Thursdays
* Assist with month‑end close activities and reporting preparation
3. Finance Systems & Administration
* Support system maintenance and data accuracy for finance functions
* Assist in improving finance processes, documentation, and controls
* Provide ad‑hoc support to the Finance team as required
Qualifications & Experience
* Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
* Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
* Good communication and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior internship or part‑time experience in accounting or finance
* Exposure to ERP or accounting systems (e.g. D365, SAP, MYOB, Xero)
* Interest in developing a career in accounting or finance within a corporate environment
