The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Communications Engineer to join our dynamic team responsible for sustaining and advancing critical communication systems. This role involves complex engineering activities focused on radio frequency communications, including investigation, analysis, and technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
You will work collaboratively with engineers and technicians, engage with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to safety, risk assessments, and compliance documentation. The position requires independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to provide expert advice on technical and strategic matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform complex communications engineering tasks and provide expert guidance.
* Manage engineering risks and apply advanced engineering principles.
* Review and assess technical designs, specifications, and safety documentation.
* Engage with stakeholders to address technical issues and deliver solutions.
* Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
* Prepare and manage work plans, resources, and project milestones.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, policy, and safety frameworks.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Engineering in RF Communications, Systems Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.
* Registered Professional Engineer (or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in electrical or communications engineering.
* Proven expertise in radio frequency communications engineering, including advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in safety case development, risk assessments, and hazard management.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
