About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and dedicated IT Support Technician to join the operations of a major national manufacturing organisation. This is an essential, hands-on role based fully on-site at their primary facility in the Seven Hills area of Western Sydney, NSW.
This position is ideal for a mature professional looking to leverage their foundational IT knowledge, strong work ethic, and customer service skills in a stable, commercial environment.
This is a contract position with an initial term of 12 months, offering a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities (The Day-to-Day)
You will operate as the frontline support, primarily handling Level 1 and Level 2 technical issues, ensuring all staff can work efficiently.
* Desktop & End-User Support: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance for Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), desktop hardware, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, monitors).
* System Access Management: Perform routine maintenance tasks related to user accounts, passwords, and group access within core directory services.
* Application Support: Resolve common issues related to standard business software, including the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
* Ticketing & Escalation: Log, manage, and prioritise incoming support requests via the ticketing system, escalating complex issues to Level 3 teams when necessary.
* Hardware Deployment: Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new laptops and workstations for new employees or device replacements.
* AV & Meeting Room Support: Ensure audio-visual and conferencing technology in meeting rooms is fully functional for important internal and client meetings.
What We Are Looking For
We value stability, dedication, and a practical approach to problem-solving. While this is a hands-on technical role, your experience in customer service and reliability is paramount.
* Experience & Tenure: Demonstrated experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a similar IT Support, Help Desk, or Desktop Support role, preferably within a large, process-driven organization (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, or large government departments).
* Customer Focus: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to patiently and clearly communicate technical solutions to colleagues of all technical levels.
* Reliability & Professionalism: A mature, reliable approach to work, understanding the importance of punctuality and consistent on-site presence in a production-critical environment.
* Technical Foundations: Solid troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Client OS, Active Directory for password/account resets, and network connectivity basics (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
* Work Arrangement: Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site at the Seven Hills facility.
