We are committed to creating meaningful work that adds value to the world.The RoleAs Principal Transport Planner, you will play a key role in growing HDR's transport planning discipline across Queensland, lead diverse projects, manage client relationships, and mentor the team.
You will have autonomy to shape your workload and contribute to business development, delivering strategic transport planning projects, and the long-term success of the practice.This role offers strong, long-term career growth and the opportunity to work with our Transport Planning Lead and, over time, step into broader leadership responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesLeading feasibility studies, options analyses, business cases, and transport planning projectsIndependently manage a range of projects with intermediate to advanced complexitySupport business development, client engagement, and bid preparationMentor junior team members and contribute to a positive team cultureCollaborate across disciplines and support cross-functional transport initiativesRepresent HDR at industry forums and deliver technical presentationsAbout YouWe're looking for someone with:Ideally, 12+ years of skilled experience in transport planningA degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or a related fieldProfessional accreditation such as CPEng/RPEQ, Registered Planner, or equivalentBroad technical expertise in planning for transport systems including public and active transport networksProven ability to manage projects and successfully engage clientsAbility to support business development activitiesConsulting background preferred, but relevant, strong technical expertise from any background welcomeExperience in public transport projects is highly desirableA growth mindset and commitment to team development and company valuesWhy Join Us?
